Location: English Harbor, Antigua

Today started off with a beautiful sunrise out at sea over the distant island of Antigua on the horizon. The 6-9 shift ran into some trouble early on in the day when the furling line snapped and the rest of the morning was spent out on the calm waves as Shona came to the rescue to slowly furl in the jib. After a long 18 hour passage with light conditions but a constant beautiful view of the faded islands and rolling waves, we started moving up the coast of Antigua and finally sailed into a scenic natural harbor hidden by the island’s towering rocks. To say we were all exhausted is an understatement, and by the time we were anchored, we all lay sprawled across the boat and ready for a good night’s sleep at 2 in the afternoon. Thanks to professional chefs Lilah and Evan, we slowly enjoyed some grilled cheese, cleaned up the boat, and took a much-needed swim in the bright blue water to cool down. Soon we motored over to the beautiful marina to dock and are now excited to relax for the rest of the day and enjoy Antigua.
