Location: Mountain Point, Virgin Gorda
Today we woke up to another day in paradise aboard Distant Drums. Blue skies, calm water, and the sun shining down. Almost immediately after our breakfast of cereal, we were underway, en route to our first dive site of the day. After a short ride we arrived at Coral Gardens where we proceeded to set up our dive gear. Then, we jumped on our trusty dinghy, Stealth, and made our way over to the site. We leaned back navy seal style and rolled out into the ocean. After a quick descent, the most amazing part of the dive was directly in front of our faces: a sunken airplane! We all swam over, then took our turns swimming through the cabin of the plane. It was spectacular! After this, we remained underwater for 15 more minutes before we surfaced. After we got back to the boat, we started our next trek to the Chimneys. We quickly suited up and hopped in the water. We dove in our individual dive buddies, our first without our instructor. It was a bit nerve-wracking, but at the same time super exciting. We all managed to make it back to the boat where we were greeted by a nice mac n cheese lunch. Next, we drove back to our same spot as last night, Mountain Point. We hung out here for a little while, swimming and dancing. Then we had a quick fish identification course. Finally we showered, and sat down to some nice beef stroganoff. Ultimately today was an awesome day, filled with some cool diving and some great dancing and topped off with an incredible Lifeworks workshop. We are all looking forward to the rest of the days aboard Distant Drums!
