Location: Great Harbor, Peter Island

The air was filled with excitement as we readied ourselves for our first sailing race against the other monohulls. As the skipper of the day, I attending an early skipper’s meeting, where we discussed the course for the race and our starting positions. We lined our boats up near a small island called Sandy Spit and assigned positions to our crew members. We waited in anticipation for the final ten-second countdown that would start the race. Celestial Storm exploded at the starting line and quickly took first place. The whole way to West End we held first and won. The boats met in West End for lunch and free time. After attending the second skipper’s meeting at West End, we prepared for our second race of the day. Though we had a rough start pulling out of the gate, we managed to go from dead last to second place. We anchored in Great Harbor at Peter Island and had Mexican night for dinner. We will finish the night with a sailing review because our theory test and knot test is tomorrow.
