Location: St. Barth's, St. Martin, Saba
Today was an interesting day. It started with a bowl of cereal then as we were getting ready to cast off to go to the fuel dock in St. Barth’s, we found out they didn’t have space for us. So we had to change our plans and headed over to St. Martin to refuel the boat. There we found ourselves with another boat and their captain, a woman who was yelling out orders to her crew. We all laughed at it. Then we started our 4-5 hour cruise to Saba. Around halfway this helicopter shows up and hovers at least 75 feet away from us and the guy waves at us, saying hi, we all got excited about that. When we arrived at Saba, we snagged a mooring ball, and as soon as we turned off the engine, this other helicopter comes and hovers about the same distance, doing the same thing as before. Then while lowering the dingy, Marta’s PFD, which is automatically inflated when it gets wet, exploded and we all laughed except for Marta, she got scared. For dinner, we had tortilla soup, and we started these intelligent conversations about how we got to where we are now and on evolution. After doing dishes, we turned off all lights and stared at the millions of stars in the pitch dark sky. By far the best sailing day ever!!
