June 3, 2020
Dear ActionQuest family,
While we’ve held out hope that there would be an opportunity to run our programs and offer your children an experience they so dearly need in these trying times, it is with a heavy heart today that I have to announce we are suspending all of our British Virgin Islands programs for summer 2020 at this time.
With just a handful of confirmed cases, the British Virgin Islands have been doing an exceptional job keeping the Coronavirus from their shores. Like most countries around the world, achieving this means closing borders and issuing stay at home orders. The good news is that internally, restrictions are now slowly being lifted, and the BVI citizens are heading back to work. However, the bad news is that the BVI Government has given no firm indication on when they will reopen their borders to visitors.
We recognize that spending part of the summer with us is something that many of you had been looking forward to, and we have too, so this news must be tough to hear. We are so grateful to our amazing students, staff, families, and alumni for your incredible support and understanding through this challenging time.
This pandemic has shown how truly interconnected our world is, and the need for our kids to develop the skills to lead with confidence is more evident than ever. We hope that this unexpected period of our lives will only strengthen the global community’s commitment to empathy, unity, and connection. With the knowledge that sunnier days are on the horizon, we can, and we will weather this storm together. ActionQuest is a community of doers. We are gritty, determined, and will be relentlessly focused on making 2021 our best summer yet.
Please stay safe as we all continue to do our part and all the best from our family to yours.
We look forward to seeing you in 2021!
Mike Meighan and the entire ActionQuest Team
