A Sad Day For The Crew Of Spindrift

Location: West End, Tortola
Author: Nico
Today we all woke up with the sad realization that our special group wouldn’t be together after today. To our surprise a secret sail race was planned to distract us from our fate. I had loads of fun racing the other boats, we even had some friendly rivalry. The word of the day is clean. We are packing up all of our stuff and cleaning the entire boat, leaving it the way we found it. Our whole crew is looking forward to our work paying off tonight at the final BBQ. Overall AQ 2011 last session ROCKED!!

Last Night On The Water

Location: The Bight, Norman Island
Author: Sarah D.
Today we woke up and went wakeboarding, kneeboarding, and waterskiing after a delicious french toast breakfast. Then we sailed to Road Town where we got to hang out and eat in town for a few hours. A bunch of us ate at the restaurant right on the water while the others took a 15 minute walk to a local restaurant. We all met back up and took a dinghy to our boat, where we sailed over to the Bight where we watched the sunset, ate dinner, and enjoyed our last night on the water before going to our last port tomorrow.

The Last Dive

Location: Great Harbor, Peter Island
Author: Marlena H.
We woke up to an already moving boat, heading to the ruins of an old ship. Our last dive was filled with the remains of a huge ship that was sliced in two by a rock during a hurricane. So many fish swam around us, corals of every color, shape, and size, sea turtles and eels were also spotted. After we had a long study session for our sailing exam. Going for a hike was amazing since being on land is rare. The salt pools were pretty, but dripping in sweat we were thankful for pebble beach. Once back to the boat we sailed back to Peter Island and prepared our thanksgiving feast. Good day, three more to go.

Who Wears Short Shorts?

Location: Great Harbor, Peter Island
Author: Sophie W.
Today we woke up bright and early and started our day with a breakfast for champions of pancakes before we started our very first race. Our boat came in third place in the race, and we arrived in West End, Tortola where we were able to shop and get some lunch. After lunch we went underway and started sailing towards Great Harbor. On our way we had our last sailing practical and almost everyone got a chance to take over the helm and sail. We arrived at Peter Island around 4:45 and had Mexican night for dinner, which was fabulous. Tomorrow we have our last dive, which we are all extremely excited about. Before we left Tortola, all of the boys on our boat, including Bobby and Andy, bought bright yellow shorts and straw hats from a local store and they all looked hilarious in them, especially when they were posing for pictures in them.

Fun Adventures

Location: Sandy Spit, Green Cay
Author: Zach M.
Today at ActionQuest we woke up and had eggs for breakfast, and later on we went scuba diving. We saw a bunch of fish which swam around us, it was awesome. For lunch we had deli sandwiches and grilled cheese. After that we went skiing, kneeboarding, and wakeboarding, about all of us wiped out. It was funny and awesome. Later on we went to port to fuel up and we all got snacks and sodas. We also saw the view of the islands from a distance, it was cool. Once it was time to head back to the boat, we put our stuff away and started sailing again. After we stopped and put the anchor down we hung out on the beach and had a BBQ and a bonfire.
