Final Video for ActionQuest Session 1 in the BVIs
Location: British Virgin Islands
We wrap up our final week with our students putting their newly earned sailing certifications to the test in 3 races while still making time for some amazing diving on the famous wreck of the RMS Rhone and a trek to the top of Mt. Sage, the highest point in the BVI. Our students reflect on their experience and the amazing relationships they developed over the past 3 weeks. #LifeActivated

Wind Shadow Staff Update Day 21
As these three spectacular weeks draw to a close, we cant believe how much of a wonderful whirlwind this has been. We have come together as a team, worked through challenges and had some of the best days ever. We will certainly miss our crew- Rexs sense of humor, Mathias quick wit, and Reids clever boat jokes. We will miss Kayleighs deep discussions, Claibornes honest goodwill and Nicoles infectious laugh. Mias dry humor and Samaras big smile have brought a little more sunshine every morning, and Supriyas enthusiasm has upped the positive energy. We will miss Owens kindness, and Alexs resourcefulness, especially during meal prep. Most of all, we will miss those times when we all laughed so hard our sides were aching. There will certainly be tears as our eleven adventurers head down to dock with their duffel bags, sun kissed and windblown and ready to share their stories with loved ones back home. We wish them all fair winds, wherever their paths may lead.

Our Last Full Day at Sea
Location: West End, Tortola
I would like to address my shipmates as I write this blog, because as I reminisce about our time together I feel a sharp pang because its all coming to the end. We had our biggest race today, from The Bight at Norman Island to Road Harbor and then onto the finish line at Great Harbor, Peter Island. I think the race showed perfectly, just how far weve come together as a team, all of us working cohesively and effectively to come in third across the finish line. It has been an honor to crew and learn beside all of you and I have enjoyed your company immensely. Sailing aboard Wind Shadow has been some of the most fun Ive ever had and I have made memories here that I will cherish forever. From the hikes to the squeezes to our dives I feel like I have gotten to know each and every one of you as well as someone can in the course of just a few short weeks, and some of you, I feel, I have gotten to know even better. As we all go back to our homes and our lives outside of ActionQuest, I would like you all to know that you have made a difference and an impact in my life, and probably the lives of all our shipmates aboard our boats.

Our Final Full Day at Sea
Location: The Bight, Norman Island
The morning started with a early and hard wakeup (as usual). Everyone who slept outside had just gotten rained on minutes prior to wakeup. We moved on to prepare breakfast, cereal, bowls, and drinks were brought on deck to start our day. After breakfast, we motored over to the dive site for the day: the wreck of the Rhone. This was a boat that was deemed unsinkable, and as we know that usually means, they sink (like the Titanic). The Rhone ended up sinking during a hurricane, during which time the crew trapped the passengers to the beds, which they used to do during rough passages. So all the passengers ended up dying in the wreck, the only survivors being the 23-crew members. So we geared up our scuba gear, briefed the dive, did our buddy checks, and finally jumped into the water. During the dive, we saw a lot of fish, which came in many shapes and sizes. After the dive came the moment, we were waiting for (and also dreading) the SAIL TEST! The test wasnt too difficult, and most of us were quite comfortable with the material. Then finally it was time for lunch, which was ramen (a very gourmet meal), it was delicious. After lunch came the time for a very short hike, which had a lot of, amazing sights and views. Promptly after the hike, we moved to a different location for the rest of the evening.

Today we had a lot of fun relaxing and swimming in the water. As our trip winds down we all love spending time with each other while we have the chance. We started off our day with a great breakfast of pancakes. Quickly we cleaned up and four of us got on Rango to do water sports. We all tried new sports and it was exciting to see people succeed in new things. I was in the first group for watersports and when we got back, we all had a great time swimming around our boat and jumping off of it. When we all dried off, we put up our jib and sailed to Road Town, where we ate lunch. At 2:45, we got back on the boat. We played in the water again until we got hailed on our VHF by Bella Vita. They had invited us to play on their boom swing. It was nice to spend time with other boats in sail side B. We finished off our day with breakfast for dinner, which was really good. Overall, today was a great day.
