Captain’s Log 2
Location: Sandy Spit, Green Cay
The trip is coming to an end, with only 5, soon to be 4 days let. We have to make them count. Today we slept in until almost 7:30. We ate a hardy breakfast of French toast with Nutella and peanut butter. After cleaning, we left the raft and made our way with the other boats to take our sailing and knot test, eating a lunch of chicken salad wraps in between. We ended up at Sandy Spit, a little island surrounded by reef. The boat and I played ultimate Frisbee for a little bit, then followed a nice stroll around the small island. After showers, we had a dinner of rice, beans, hot dogs, corn bread, and salad for dinner. The trip has gone by fast with endless memories and many new friendships that will last a long time. Your skipper, Grant, signing out for the last time. Stay classy.

Day 15 RULES! #bestdayever #longestdayever
Location: Sidney’s, Jost van Dyke
Today was the BEST DAY EVER!! We started with a strenuous hike up Mt. Sage, but it was beautiful and the best hike I’ve ever done. After that, we had some shore time where we ate cheeseburgers in paradise. Unfortunately my chicken tenders never showed 🙁 To make up for that we got some dope ice cream. We then left the island and booked it to Sandy Cay to have a sand castle contest (which we’re obviously gonna win). We made a bottle of Sun Bum sunscreen. After that, we took our shower and got fancied up for the BBQ. The end.

The Storm, Dolphins and Sunset
Location: Cane Garden Bay, Tortola
As eloquently recollected by my competent and able shipmate Caroline, “today felt like a dream bro. I was awoken by Anna at 7:15 reminding me that I as the skipper for the second time this trip, also very alarmed at the surprising rate time seems to pass while on this boat. I honestly cannot imagine leaving “the boys” or anyone else i in a week. After the classic oatmeal breakfast, we sailed out of our anchorage for Cane Garden Bay. While at the helm we saw a storm approaching us on the horizon. It rapidly approached while we were out in open water, and of course, we refused to grab our rain jackets. So, we huddled in the cockpit, soaking wet, when people started singing the best campfire songs. This carried on until the “drops stopped dropping and the storm started stopping” (Dr. Seuss). We sailed into port to refuel and anchor for the night and immediately noted dolphins playing at the bow of another boat as the most beautiful sunset of the whole trip unfolded. I’m sure pictures will be posted, but believe me: it was pretty sick. The day wound down with a shower and a chill meeting. T’was a great day, great people, great surroundings, all around 10/10. Stay up, stay humble. Oh yeah.

Open Water Certified!!
Location: Julia G.
Today was another fun rotation day! We started off our day with waterskiing, wakeboarding, and knee boarding. A lot of us are now comfortable that we can start doing tricks. After watersports, we took a look around the boat to see how the engine works. Later on, we had Pico races around the boats. After we had lunch, we started our open water dives 3+4. The last dives before we became certified PADI divers. After we finished all our skills, we had time to practice our flips underwater and swimming over the reefs. After our dives, we motored over to Sommer’s Beach where we had another BBQ. We ended the day with a sunset and a movie.
