Shore Day and the Boom

Location: Mountain Point, Virgin Gorda
Today everyone woke up pretty tired, the midnight rainstorm waking everyone didnt help with our sleep patterns! Our chefs made an amazing breakfast of maple and apple oatmeal. After we ate and cleaned our deck, we got ready to sail. We sailed from Vixen Point to Leverick Bay for a short shore excursion. They had a couple of shops, but we were focused on finding food! The food like many things in the Caribbean was a slow moving process so we opted for cold drinks instead. We went to the store and bought some boat snacks for later in the trip. We spent about an hour on shore then headed back to the boat. We then set sail again, this time for Mountain Point where we would anchor for several nights. We had some free time once at Mountain Point before dinner, so the staff set up a boom swing for us to swing off the vessel into the water. We got everyone to go off of it at least once! However, everyones highlight of the day was the Mexican food for dinner followed by cake!

Kraft Mac n Cheese

Location: Vixen Point, Gorda Sound
Author: Aiden C.
The day started off bright and too early. Luckily, we had the most important meal of the day: breakfast. After breakfast, we began our second rotation day with windsurfing on the beach. Nicolas was attempting to cross to the other side of the bay before he was rescued and brought back to shore. Vega students split up, the Carinas did reef diving and got to see the HMS Rhone cannon and a reef. The Vega students got to experience dive tables for the first time. Next came water sports, I got up onto waterskis for the first time, which was fun. Then came the BEST meal o the trip, Kraft Mac n Cheese. No a single scrap was left over. On the way back from the reef, our dinghies had to outrun the incoming storm, which inevitably caught up. Once it had subsided, we were free to play beach games with Casey.

Day 5

Location: Vixen Point, Gorda Sound
Author: Sebastian M.
The crewmembers awoke from a long night’s rest for a great day of adventure. Erocibar made its way to the Baths. The waters were filled with jellyfish! After the Baths, we set sail towards Spanishtown. We were greeted with delicious food in Spanishtown. After lunch, we bought ice cream to fight off the heat of the sun. It was the first time we have seen a larger port since day one! We finished the day by tying up our boats together and enjoying dinner.

Day 4

Location: Savanna Bay, Virgin Gorda
Author: Anna B.
Today was a very busy day. We woke up and had a quick breakfast of oatmeal and fruit. Then we went on our first dive of the trip. The open water divers did their first confined water dive and practiced their skills. The advanced divers went and practiced their navigating skills. After diving, we came home for a quick sandwich. After lunch, we got to do some knee boarding, waterskiing, and wakeboarding. We also learned how to drive the dinghies around. Then we all got to try windsurfing. We had lots of fun playing in the water and coming up with synchronized dances as a boat. After, we came back to shower and have dinner. Abbi turned 18 today!!
