Prank Wars

Location: Avery S.

Alexa, Hailey, Emma and I woke up at 2 am this morning to prank Luna Kahuna. Two hours later, we realized we weren’t the only boat pulling pranks. We had been pranked by Pure Joy. After refusing to do Pure Joy’s demands this morning to get our utensils back, we received the name Sour Our for the day. At about 9 am, we were back where we began in West End. We headed to our dive site for the day, the Fearless wreck. Since I couldn’t equalize my ears, my skipper and I came up with a way to redeem ourselves from the name Sour Our while my shipmates were underwater. We then began watersports and ate dinner. After dinner, the whole boat piled into the dinghy and we headed over to Pure Joy. They gave us a list of instructions to get our silverware back from them. The demands were for us to dance in front of all of Dive Side. Originally some of us refused but after persuasion, we all went and redeemed ourselves with an awesome dance in front of Pure Joy.

Following an amazing day and late night at Sidney’s, we slept in and woke up to delicious French toast made by our chefs. After breakfast and cleanup, we lifted anchor to start the day. We motored over to the Playgrounds for our first dive of the day where we encountered a vast amount of fire coral, smooth trunkfish, tarpon, lionfish, and many more. After the dive, we ate lunch and had some down time to read or nap with a nice breeze. After refreshing naps, we were off to our second dive at the Playgrounds to see a whole new variety of aquatic creatures. While underway, two of our shipmates spotted a dolphin! Once moored, we jumped in the water again. In the water, we saw trunkfish, butterfly fish, grunts and a nurse shark! After the dive, we went to hang out on the beach at Sandy Spit before dinner. Now we are off to a Lifeworks forum for our evening activity.

This morning I woke up at 5:30 to the lovely sound of Avery telling me “its hike day”. After getting all of our hike gear set up, we head out for the dock where Mike briefed us for the best day ever. Once we set off on the hike, I realized it wasn’t as easy as I expected it to be. Let’s just say hiking up a mountain is kind of difficult. At the top, after signing the book, Haley and I made our way down in what was probably a quarter of the time it took us to get up. I had a killer grilled cheese and got to call my mom for a little bit! Then we went to an epic sand castle competition where Happy Ours plans of building a Jacuzzi didnt go as planned. It ended up looking like more of a creepy hut. Now, back on the boat, everyone is getting ready for our BBQ at Sydney’s Peace and Love and I couldn’t be more pumped. Stay tuned to the blogs to see which shipmate gets their entire head braided into cornrows tonight!

Puffers, Lobsters and Other Gnarly Things

Today is Day 14 and we’re still nonstop here on Happy Our. We woke up and ate breakfast before heading to the Pinnacles for an independent dive. The Dolphins collected data for their research project and the Neptunes had a fun dive. It was swelly and rainy, but the dive was still awesome. Jake and I saw a pufferfish and others saw lionfish. We had quesadillas for lunch, which were delicious. After lunch, we sailed over to Shark Point for another fun dive. This site had an awesome swim through, a huge lobster and a gnarly barracuda. After our second dive, we sailed over to Cane Garden Bay to refuel. We’ll stay here for the night because we’ll wake up early tomorrow morning for our hike up Mount Sage followed by “burgers in paradise”. Im excited for dinner followed by a movie and even more excited for an awesome day tomorrow!
