Last Day

Location: West End, Tortola
Author: Carlton J.
Right now it is only 9:10 in the morning but we have just finished our last dive at the Indians. We had cereal for breakfast and now we are about to start packing and cleaning. For our dive today we pretty much all stayed together which is probably the first time that has happened because of our training and research dives. For the rest of the day we will be cleaning, packing and saying our goodbyes. We are about to head back to the dock. We have a long day ahead but we are going to try and make it fun with some of Benji’s DJ-ing.

Friends Never Say Goodbye

Location: West End, Tortola
Author: The Boss Lady Staff
Its hard to believe that it’s the end of third session. These past 17 days have been fun of laughter, stories, jellyfish, and one can’t forget about the rescue scenarios! The Dolphin staff learned a lot from all the students. Caleb, our only Neptune, completed his final certification 2 days ago to complete his wreck specialty. The Rescue students completed their final scenario which was helping a non-responsive diver and a panicked diver. They finished their tests and emergency action plans and they had a huge sigh of relief, ready to save lives outside of Action Quest. Here are favorite parts of our shipmates these past 17 days. Joaquin’s favorite part of the trip was the wreck of the Rhone and the swim through. Carlton loved every single part but the scenarios were by far the best. Maddie enjoyed all of the dive sites (she said it was too hard to pick a favorite). Harry made a lot of new friendships and also getting 50 dives to be closer to Master Scuba Diver (the highest non-professional level of diving). Benji loved everything about this summer, he learned the jellyfish are awesome creatures. Kristina was amazed with the amount of sea life at the all the dive sites and the BBQ on Sandy Spit. Lucas was thrilled to receive his rescue certification and meeting everyone on this trip. Caleb loved the large variety of dives and hanging out with new people. Leanne had an awesome time turtle tagging. Anderson loved getting his groove on at the dance party. Chandler loved going to all the towns and seeing the different culture. We are so lucky to have shared so many memories and we all became a family. All we can hope is that once the summer officially comes to a close, the tans begin to fade, and your scuba gear begins to gather a light layer of dust that our fellow Boss Ladies and Gents look back on this time and remember all the great times we had together. Thanks for a wonderful session that we won’t soon forget!

Shoulda had Pancakes

Location: The Bight, Norman Island
Author: Caleb C.
Today started by substituting a breakfast of pancakes with one of scrambled eggs. After this disappointment we dove the Fearless. After resurfacing from our dive we sailed to Road Town, the capital of the BVI. We ate lunch and hung out for about two and a half hours. We then boarded the boat and set out on our race. We ended up getting second place. We played around in the water and showered. Then we ate a dinner of franks and beans. All in all it was a good day.

We woke up this morning to a lovely breakfast of French toast prepared by Carlton and Benji. Then we had a nice sail to Wreck Alley where the Rescues had a relaxing fun dive and most of the Dolphins finished up their research projects. After finishing up we had some down time on the boat before lunch. We had delicious deli sandwiches. After lunch the Dolphins and Rescues had an awesome fun dive as a group. We saw the Kissing Wrecks. It was also Carlton’s 50th dive! Carlton was also kept on his feet all day worried about a rescue scenario! After our second dive we sailed back to GHP (Great Harbour, Peter Island). When we arrived we went for dip in the clear blue ocean. We also saw a sea turtle! Yay! Then we enjoyed a nice “Summertime Thanksgiving” dinner. Over dinner we came to the sad realization that we only have one more dinner aboard Boss Lady. It was another amazing journey, thanks to all my shipmates and crew!

Mexican Night

Location: Great Harbour, Peter Island
Author: Joaquin S.
Today was awesome not just because it was Mexican night but because we had some awesome bonding time with the crew. We did some yoga and exercised together and showed off our muscles to the other boats. We also dove today and found the Rhone’s anchor and took some really cool photos. We got some shore time and ate at D’ Best Cup cafe and by the time we got back on board we were all so full we could barely breath. So we took a long cat nap and played a card game and had an awesome night. Now we’re all studying and writing our essay which will be due tomorrow afternoon so gotta go!
