This morning we woke up to a beautiful sunrise in Savanna Bay. After breakfast, the Neptunes left the boat to begin their program and the Dolphins came over to our boat. We all did a morning dive and practiced compass navigation with our buddies. It was great getting to meet and dive with a whole new group of people! After, we learned more about the Earth’s oceans. Did you know that 71% of the Earth’s surface is ocean? That is why it is so important for us to conserve and protect all of the marine life! For lunch, we ate delicious PB&J sandwiches. We then explored the beaches and studied the differences in biodiversity between the windward and leeward sides of the island. We were fortunate enough to see 3 juvenile lemon sharks and a small sea turtle near shore. After the Dolphins all hung out on our boat and we learned how to drive a dinghy and did water sports. Tonight, we’re going to watch the sunset while we eat chili and rice for dinner. I can’t believe that we are almost a quarter of the way through camp!
