Day 17 – Staff Update – Wrapping Up An Incredible Summer
Posted: Sun, Aug 14, 2016
Location: West End, Tortola
I can’t believe that this summer is coming to a close. It feels as though it was yesterday when the staff arrived on the docks of West End, Tortola in early June to set up for the first session of the summer. Now, we are putting away all of our sail training manuals and dive gear, pumping our scuba tanks for the last time, preparing them for their long wait until next summer. The dinghy hulls are being scrubbed, and their engines are spotless, while our monohulls and catamarans are being taken back to the Road Town docks one by one. Thinking back on our past sessions, I can’t help but feel incredibly proud for all that, our students have accomplished. Those who were on the dolphin program successfully presented their scientific findings in front of their peer and their instructors. They are now certified research, night, underwater digital photography and underwater naturalist divers. The dolphin students also dissected sharks and starfish and learned a lot about marine anatomy. Those on our Neptune program have taken their final exam and are now advanced divers! Not only are they certified advanced open water divers, but also they now hold specialties in: night, fish identification, boat, equipment and wreck diving. Every single one of our students has accomplished incredible things, and I am so very proud of all of them. Congratulations to all of our student for all that they have done! We hope to see you all down here next summer!
