Today sure flew by! After being woken up by a beautiful Caribbean sunrise, we were up and about, ready to start the new day. For breakfast we had yogurt and bagels as we were briefed on the day’s activities. After cleaning up the boat and slabbing on sun cream, we were already on the way to our first station- coral reef conservation. Here we were taught the importance of coral reefs and how to ensure the protection of our oceans. We even got certified in our knowledge of this topic! Next we took a dinghy to another boat where we were able to do watersports/Pico sailing. This was my favorite part of the day because it was the first time I had ever successfully wake boarded! Now it was already lunch and we headed back to Lady Aubrey, where we had a nice bowl of soup and recapped the fun moments we just experienced. After cleaning up from lunch we were ready to scuba dive! Today was our third open water dive and we only need to complete one more before we are certified! On today’s dive we fooled around finding sand dollars, watching the incredible fish, and fulfilled skill requirements. Next we traveled to another boat where we learned how to make Turks Head bracelets. As we were doing this it was hard not to think of how serene the setting we were surrounded in was- having a vast blue sky, tropical breezes, amazing islands, and crystal clear water. After that we showered and got ready for dinner, which was “summertime Thanksgiving. It is so unbelievable that we are already on day 11 and that we have grown so much closer as a boat. I can’t wait to see how strong our friendships will be on the final day!
