Day 4- Eat My Bubbles

Location: Savannah Bay, Virgin Gorda
We started the day off early today. By 6:30, we were wearily getting out of bed as Jake and Emma sailed us away from Marina Cay, bound for Savanna Bay. During the 2 hour sail, I got a good amount of helm time. It was exhilarating being able to have so much power at the tips of my fingers. During the trip, we enjoyed a simple- but messy- breakfast of cereal. The water was relatively choppy so at the end of breakfast there was cereal all over. Once we got to Savannah Bay, we cleaned up and rode one of the dinghies over to Lady Aubrey to go wake and knee boarding. It was amazing. We went super fast, even catching some air at some point! If you left the wake of the dinghies, it was very difficult to stay on. Bernie was able to wakeboard out of the wake for at least 30/40 seconds. After that, we learned how to tie knots like the bowline. After knot tying was the beach and wind surfing time. The sand was incredibly soft and silky. Windsurfing was a challenge. Standing up was easy, but getting the sail up was surprisingly challenging. Moving with the sail was even more so. Finally, we got to the best part of the day- scuba diving! Taking our first breaths underwater was incredible. Although we were only doing drills, we still got to see some small schools of fish, which was a unique experience. We practiced situations and getting to the surface. The most challenging part of scuba diving was carrying our equipment on land, which could be seen as we were all trudging out of the water, but still grinning with glee about the experience. As we headed back to our boat to take the terrible swim test, 6 laps around the boat. We then took showers, had a jumping contest and settled down for a ferocious game of kemps. Today was a great and memorable day that we will all remember.
