Posted: Fri, Jul 29, 2016

Location: West End, Tortola
Author: Alisa
Matt, Sarah, and Alisa have been busy prepping Rangitoto Too for its third and final group of shipmates this summer. Between fooding the boat, filling it with program materials, and general housekeeping, it’s hard to believe the last program is already here. That being said they couldn’t be more excited to get go sail, dive and create an amazing experience in this beautiful place with their new boat family.
Here is an introduction to the crew of Rangitoto Too:
Matt: Skipper/Dive Instructor/Medic
Matt is a returning skipper, dive instructor, and member of the medical team. He sailed across the Atlantic Ocean with Seamester on S/Y Argo in 2012, and sailed across the Indian Ocean on Argo in 2014. During the year, he studies at Florida Gulf Coast University and is majoring in marine biology. In his off time he likes to produce music, go on adventures with his dog, and do woodworking.
Alisa: Dive Instructor/Mate
Alisa was raised in North Florida and has never been far from the water. She was a competitive swimmer for nine years and has been diving since she was sixteen. Her passion for scuba and the undersea world has only increased over the years. Alisa studied ecotourism in college and became a PADI scuba instructor in 2014. When she’s not in the water, her hobbies include being around food as much as possible and having a near unhealthy obsession with Harry Potter. She enjoys engaging with people and teaching and encouraging people to love the water and its inhabitants as much as she does! This is her second year working with the ActionQuest family and she is more than excited to continue this adventure!
Sarah: Dive Instructor/Mate
Sarah grew up and went to university in the landlocked state of Colorado, but has always been fascinated by the ocean. She fell in love with diving while taking a coral reef ecology course, where she spent a week diving in Roatan, Honduras. She graduated from University of Colorado with a degree in Ecology and took a research job working for National Marine Fisheries on the Bering Sea in Alaska. The contract based work allowed her the opportunity to travel and do other ocean research internships. She studied great white sharks in South Africa for 2 months in 2012. In 2013, she moved to Florida to pursue diving and became a PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor in early 2014. Since then she has been traveling, working, and diving in various parts of the world.
