Today started out slow as we were able to sleep in until 7:35 since the staff had a meeting first thing. Our chefs of the day, Maddie and Rose made us a delicious breakfast of pancakes that we topped off with Nutella and maple syrup. Once we were done with eating, we cleaned up then got to know each other better. At around 9:30, the staff returned and we all divided all the jobs, in order to make our boat sparkly clean! Jobs varied from cleaning the bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchen, salon and the entire deck of the boat. Once our boat was back to the way it was when we came, we set sail for our dive at the Chikuzen wreck, which sits halfway between Tortola and Anegada. The sail was one of the longer sails we have encountered. Everyone took turns at the helm getting and opportunity to learn how to sail. Right before we arrived at the dive site. Cat assisted the chefs to make a yummy chicken salad with which we made sandwiches. Finally, it was time to splash into the water to do a wreck dive at the Chikuzen. Even though the visibility was not perfect, we still swam through the boat, and we were able to see a lionfish and a smooth trumpet fish! After climbing out of the water, we put our PFDs back on our backs; we had a very wet, rainy sail, which consisted of a lot of laughter. Once we made it through the crazy weather, the chefs had already finished making a dinner of cheddar broccoli pasta and salad. Last part of the day that we just surfaced from was our third night dive where it was just our dive buddy and ourselves and no instructor leading us! We have all made it back to the boat with only a few surfacing a little bit away from the boat, but we are all now official Padi night divers! Can’t wait to see what the second half of the trip that we still have coming has in store!
