Day 13- A Long Day Ended Well

Location: Sommer’s Beach, Tortola
Today started off another long but fun day of rotations. Bright and early in the morning we stayed on our boat, Calypso, and learned all about the engines and how our boat works from David. After about two hours of learning and getting important and interesting life lessons, we got to go waterskiing, wakeboarding and kneeboarding. We had many funny laughs and wipe-outs on my boat from Nicole and Kade. All of us tried to see how many total spins we could do in a row on the kneeboard. It was mostly unsuccessful, causing more and more laughs. We all then reunited with the rest of the boat for tortilla soup before the last two sessions of the day. After lunch we sailed Picos, but there was little to no wind so Nicole and I grabbed onto Maddi and Megan’s boat. We talked about random things and laughed til our stomachs hurt. After we went scuba diving for our third open water dive! One more til we are certified! The dive was good. We went to this place called the Sand Highway. After doing all the skills that we still needed to do, we swam around, saw the other groups, and Maddi, Megan and I did flips underwater with our instructor Quin. After a very long day of rotations we went back to our boat and moved it to our BBQ location spot. Once there we went to shore and had an AQ wide BBQ. While we were there we found a few coconuts and drank the milk and ate the whole inside. It was fun to see friends that you made earlier in the trip who are other boats again, since we don’t get to see them all very often. We had to say goodbye and go back to our boats for a fresh water shower. The day was fun but very tiring. All of my shipmates and I are very excited for tomorrow to be certified!
