Day 11

Posted: Sun, Aug 10, 2014

Location: Muskmelon Bay, Guana Island
Author: Ethan F.
Today was an eventful day as we woke up anchored in Muskmelon Bay. After eating breakfast the crew started rotations, where we learned to tie Turk’s Heads, talked about coral conservation, sailed Picos and dove. It seems every day I stay here in this beautiful paradise the more I feel like I’m stepping into a dream. Today was my first time at 60ft and being able to swim down there seems so unbelievable. We also made bracelets. As silly as it is it almost feels like that brings us all together that says we’re all here through this adventure together. Once we finished eating soup for lunch we learned a lot about coral conservation and how as divers we need to help protect the coral reefs. I feel like the lord of the sea. After a long day on the water we took our salt water showers and got ready for summertime thanksgiving dinner, probably the most delicious dinner we have had, although we had chicken instead of tuna. I can’t wait for tomorrow but I don’t want today to end. I never want this to end. I’ve met an amazing group of people here on Gemini and this trip wouldn’t be the same without them.
