Day 10: Chikuzin
Posted: Sat, Aug 9, 2014
Location: Muskmelon Bay, Guana Island
Waking up to a new day after some intense Lifeworks was a great feeling. As soon as the calming morning CD woke us up we smelled the sweet smell of pancakes. As the last pancake was eaten we grabbed our PFDs and immediately sailed to the Chikuzin! The sail over was amazing — we reached 8.5 knots! Up ahead on the horizon we saw Mary Morgan, stopping in the middle of nowhere and we had reached the Chikuzin. We immediately jumped in the water and dove down to nearly 90ft to the wreck. On our way down we saw not one but two black tip reef sharks! And not to mention a few barracudas and tons of other fish. After the wreck we sailed to Muskmelon Bay just in time for dinner and a solo night dive. It was a blast being independent underwater. Overall the whole day was amazing and I can’t wait to see what else AQ 2014 holds!
