Day 10: Chikuzin Wreck
Posted: Sat, Aug 9, 2014
Location: Muskmelon Bay, Guana Island
We had an awesome day today. We woke up early to a great pancake breakfast and surprised our staff to a clean boat when they came back from their staff meeting. We sailed to the Chikuzin wreck and had an amazing dive. We saw two black tip reef sharks, a huge southern stingray, swam through a school of barracuda and came face to face with a Goliath grouper. It was absolutely amazing. It was everyone’s favorite dive of the trip by far. We sailed to Muskmelon where we’re staying for the night and we’re lucky enough to host Mike, the Action Quest director, and his son for dinner. After that we had Lifeworks with them and got to learn about each other with new perspectives with pictures. The Dolphins and Neptunes are gearing up for their last night dive where they get to navigate by themselves without an instructor to get their night diving certification specialty. The Rescues finished the last chapter of their Rescue diver manuals and have their last lecture tonight. It’s crazy to think that we’re already halfway through our trip. It seems like yesterday we were all going around introducing ourselves and now we’re just one big loud happy family. Well I have to go to my lecture now, good luck to everyone diving tonight!
