Day 16- Sandy Spit
Posted: Thu, Jul 24, 2014
Location: Sandy Spit, Green Cay
The day started off when we broke away from the raft in Little Harbour, Jost van Dyke. Soon after we started to do our practical exam for sailing. The first part was knot tying, then we proceeded to sail out into open water. The second part of the exam was maneuvering the boat and achieving points of sail. We had to stop early because of conditions that got extremely hard to maneuver in. We hadn’t yet seen water this rough. We sailed over to Sandy Spit where we anchored for the night. It was the most picturesque beach that we explored. You are able to circumnavigate the island in around 3 minutes. After spending some time playing in the white sand we had a lovely dinner with Mike, followed by an intriguing Lifeworks session.
