Day 15: The Longest Day

It’s weird to think that it was just 6am this morning when we woke up. We have conquered so many obstacles in these 11 hours so far and the day isn’t even over. Just after our musical wake up call we had to get ready really fast and remember to bring sneakers, put on bug spray and sunscreen and fill up our water bottles. We then quickly ate cereal and did a super speedy clean-up. We were shuttled to a dock on our dinghy, Gus Gus, and the whole camp gathered on the bottom of Mt. Sage before we started our trek to the tallest point in the BVI. It was not an easy task. The first part of the hike was the steepest part, or as Marina calls it “the Spirit Breaker”. We all questioned why we were pushing ourselves so hard and it took some motivation not to quit. When we finally cleared the first stretch, the rest of the hike felt almost, but not quite, easy. Everyone walked or ran at their own pace but after an hour and fifteen minutes I reached the top. We got to sign our names in a book, get a picture taken, grab a banana smoothie and walk back down the mountain. This part was much more fun and we sang, danced and ran all the way down to the little beach at the bottom. We devoured burgers and ice cream before we hit up the grocery store and souvenirs. When we felt like we couldn’t walk any more we made our way to the dock so we could get back in our dinghy and return to our home, Second Wind. When everyone was on board we took a little motor to Sandy Cay and our jaws dropped as we saw the beautiful beach. All of Action Quest then gathered to have a sand castle contest. Second Wind built an awesome stingray and we really should have won the contest. We all had so much fun and wen we came back to the boat we had a shower party. now we are getting ready to go to Sydney’s Peace and Love for a beach BBQ and Reggae music. It’s going to be a blast and by the end of the night I know we will all be exhausted from our long day of activities.
