Day 19 – White Squall
Posted: Sat, Jul 5, 2014
Location: The Bight, Norman Island
We began our day with yummy pancakes to get us ready for a long day of sailing. The advanced sailors took their exams while the others finished eating. We then waterskied for the last time with Higgy. I, for one, just could not get up today, while Mason and Caitlin skied with ease. Afterwards we made our way over to Road Town, where most of us ate lunch at Village Cay. Some went to explore the town and get ice cream while others used that time to use the internet and go on their phones. From Road Town we made our way to the Bight on Norman Island. On our way there we had our own little white squall. The wind was blowing, our jib was furled in, the main was reefed and the rain was pouring down; we managed to go 8 knots at one point. Once moored our instructors went off to a meeting while the cooks made dinner and the rest of us were down below with them taking shelter from the rain. Then lastly for our evening activity we wrote cards to one another, to remember all the good things we are capable of and the good in all of us.
