Day 18 – America Day
Posted: Fri, Jul 4, 2014
Location: Great Harbor, Peter Island
We started the day by picking up anchor and eating breakfast underway on our way to Salt Island. Once there we dove the RMS Rhone. A lot of people felt seasick on the way over but felt better once they got into the water. The dive was amazing, we saw a sea turtle and I finally found the lucky port hole. It was a great 60th dive for Chance and I, even though his mask broke and was leaking the whole dive. The waves were huge once we got onto the boat so people who felt seasick went and stayed on a boast on the leeward side of the island for the greatest part of the day as we were the dive boat for the rest of the sail side. Most of the DMs helped people set up gear for the next couple hours but Austin and I each had a nice two hour nap. We awoke to the smell of check salad and the sound of country music being blasted for the 4th of July. We helped divers for another couple hours and Ian got caught up on dives he missed because of his ear infection. After we cleaned all the dive gear off our boat we motored back to G.H.P. Where we showered and relaxed until breakfast for dinner. Right now the Vegas are finishing their sailing test and Phebe is icing a 4th of July cake or us.
