Location: Great Harbor, Peter Island
The morning started with Gus making breakfast burritos. Gus’s cooking is terrifying, but he proved himself, and the burritos were amazing. We had to clean up super fast as we had a morning wreck dive. We dove The Fearless, which is a large wreck at around 82ft down. Every buddy pair was tasked with mapping the wreck underwater. Pat is a great dive buddy because he knows every fish in the sea, literally. He pointed out a giant lobster and a bunch of other cool fish.
After the wreck dive, Gus went back to the kitchen, and his grilled cheeses did not disappoint. Everyone ate at least three grilled cheeses, and no one could move after lunch. aWe managed to get up and snorkeled our solo dive site with our buddy. Once back on the boat, each buddy team pitched their dive plan to CiCi and RiRi.
This was our first solo dive meaning it was just you and your buddy. My buddy was Player, and the dive was great. We saw a huge school of Black Tangs and successfully navigated back to the boat. We both learned that the blue ocean, where you can’t see the surface or floor, is super scary. Even though everyone was doubted, every buddy pair team made it back to the boat and followed their dive plans.
Dinner prep started quite early as it was Thanksgiving on Bend The Rules. While cooking a bajillion different foods, we watched another boat anchored next to us get egged. To prevent ourselves from getting egged, we all yelled (specifically Gus) “allergic” to the other boats. So far, our tactic of not getting egged has worked. We are currently cleaning up from dinner, and Livin On A Prayer is blasting in the background. Hopefully, it’s a movie night.
