The Rotating Day
After waking up early in the morning we were told that there would be no sailing today. Today was a rotation day, in which we would be completing our first confined water dive. Also, we were given the chance to try waterskiing, wakeboarding, kneeboarding, and windsurfing. Speaking on behalf of the people windsurfing, most of us found it incredibly entertaining and difficult. All of the people windsurfing were able to get the board going in one direction; however getting it back to the beach was a whole other story. In addition to the watersports we also went on a short hike to the other side of the island, which had an amazing view. After the beach day came to and end, we came back to the boat to take a shower and prepare dinner for the crew and for the director of the program. At dinner we enjoyed a good veggie burger and a funny squeeze question. After dinner ended we gathered the entire sail side B for a forum, which had a positive impact on the people in the boat. Finishing the day all the people from Wicked Good hung out and laughed in the front of the boat, awaiting the fun to be for the rest of the trip!

Summertime And The Livin’s Easy
After being told we were waking up today at 7:15, we knew it was gonna be a great day. As soon as everyone was awake and moving we broke out the cereal. Shortly after everyone had their bathing suits on and tons of sunscreen of course, and we were ready to head over to the Baths. The Baths were everything we wanted and more. Everyone can agree that the jumping rock was their favorite place within the Baths. Climbing through the caves was definitely just as exciting. After a few sun filled hours we were on the way to Spanishtown. Once there we enjoyed burgers and fries. Overall today was the best day yet and full of bonding, not to mention tonight’s chefs prepared an excellent meal of rice and chilli. Thankfully no one used too much hot sauce like a few nights ago. Can’t wait til tomorrow!

Today was our first full day with everyone aboard the boat. It was also the first time waking up to sunny clear skies. We quickly set sail and had many lessons in how to sail. Everyone had the opportunity to practice our sailing skills and to lay out on the deck and enjoy the sun. We hove to once in order to eat lunch, reapply sunscreen, and to hydrate. Afterwards we zigzagged across the water to Savanna Bay, where we dropped anchor for the day and night. To pass the time until we could ski and wakeboard we worked on broadening our scuba knowledge. Groups of three went one at a time to wakeboard or ski. For some people this was difficult and they had trouble getting and staying up. As the sun started to go down many of us found sunburns on our bodies. To end the day we enjoyed amazing food thanks to Anna and Tenley. Hopefully tomorrow brings as much fun as today.

Leaving from the Port
Location: The Bight, Norman Island
Four of the students were late, so when we arrived all the other members of the boat were already there. As soon as we arrived we left the port. The weather was ok but I hope it to be sunnier tomorrow. We sailed following other ActionQuest boats. We arrived to an island where we stopped the boat and stayed there for the night. Then we had dinner and a diving lesson. When it ended we all went to sleep. It was a good day overall.

First Arrival at Wicked Good
Today we didn’t do much since everyone was arriving. We all arrived after a long flight and came to Tortola. After arriving we all got sent to our boats. Our boat is named Wicked Good! Everyone came throughout the day, arriving from all over the world. On our boat alone there are people from Canada, France, Spain, and all over America. After some people arrived we took a swim test and waited for the others. The weather was warm and humid when we got here, and it felt perfect. Everyone was excited and meeting new people. We walked around the port and ate at a restaurant for lunch. We met all of our staff members who were super nice! When it got dark we ate dinner (pasta!) and learned the cleanup routines. After all getting settled on the boat we got ready for bed. Some people slept on top of the boat! It started pouring in the middle of the night though and everyone had to get inside quick! It was a relaxing yet exhausting day from travel, but the excitement for what’s to come got everyone through!
