Super Fun Awesome Great Day

Location: Mountain Point, Virgin Gorda

Today was an absolutely awesome day! We did so many fun things in one day that I’m surprised there was even time to write a blog. So we awoke to a beautiful sunny morning and had some really delicious pancakes (yum), then we all got ready and had another super great rotation day. We started off bright and early with mooring ball practice, where we had a super fun time practicing picking up mooring balls, which is what we do sometimes instead of anchoring. Now we’re all pros! Next we all went scuba diving and the Carina divers did their naturalist dives which is what I did and it was superduper fun. The Vega divers did their first open water dive and they had lots of fun. We all ran into each other underwater and it was pretty exciting to see other divers, as well as all the really cool fish that we saw. Also the night before the Carina divers went on a night dive, which was amazing! Then we had a really great lunch of grilled cheese. After lunch we had a pretty great time in the Picos, which are small sailboats and we were all pro. We had really good wind and got nice speed. For our final rotation we learned about navigation, which is like learning about true north and magnetic north and really great things like that. We had a shower and are now settling in for a pretty exciting looking thanksgiving diner. Then we have a pretty exciting sail chat. I’m sooo excited for tomorrow! Yay!

Busy Day!

Today was a rotation day so this morning the Vegas went diving. We perfected our diving skills and collected some sea shells. Later that day we went waterskiing and wakeboarding, it was a lot of fun and we laughed at each others falls. Once on the boat we scrubbed the whole boat with bleach so we could gain the right to eat brownies and watch a movie. A dinghy picked us up and brought us to a sailboat further away from all the others so we could practice man overboards with BOB which stands for bucket overboard. We all got the chance to drive the boat and designate about three people different roles- a pointer which keeps track of Bob, a hooker which takes the hook and tries to reel Bob in, and finally an assistant hooker to help the hooker. We had a great dinner and finally got those brownies!

Long Day

Today we stayed at Vixen Point all day. We went snorkeling so we saw a lot of fishes and had fun. After that we went to the beach and did some sailing on boats named Hunters. We stayed and rested a bit on the beach and went to do some windsurfing and learnt it. We laughed so much while doing windsurfing because we always fall down. At night we saw a barracuda that’s maybe five feet tall it was scary. For dinner we had Mexican food. We all laughed at dinner. Then at night like every night we are all tired because of the endless day we had.

Beach Party

Location: Vixen Point, Gorda Sound

This day was long and fun! Our day started with the usual wakeup. Oatmeal helped us face this day strongly. We wakeboarded, waterskiied, kneeboarded, it was so fun. The beach we went to had awesome sand and lots of activities: windsurfing, volleyball. Then we went to a port nearby to call our parents and buy stuff at the grocery store. We quickly headed back to the beach because an awesome beach party night was waiting for us. The BVI’s best DJ rocked it. All of ActionQuest’s shipmates were there. We met other guys and had fun. The dance floor was full. Tasty hot dogs and hamburgers were offered to us at the BBQ. We watched a great fire show made by staff members. We returned to our lovely Vivo Libre boat very tired. It was a beautiful night as it didn’t rain.

Break Day

Location: Vixen Point, Gorda Sound

After a nice sleep on the deck, we started a long sail to Anegada. Although it was a pretty long trip, it was a simple trip (meaning not so much tacking). The day started out cloudy but as we approached Anegada it became sunnier and warmer. After the beautiful, calm sail we arrived at the gorgeous flat island of Anegada. We all jumped out of the boat with excitement into Phoenix, our dinghy, and went to the beach. We were all happy to jump into the turquoise colored warm water. After a game of Marco Polo and a nice walk on the beach, the Vivo Libre family jumped back into Phoenix and then back on the sailboat. We then continued sailing to another area. Overall this was a nice break day full of fun. The Vivo family is excited to continue this amazing adventure!
