Get Our Breath Back After an Unforgettable Night

Location: Statia
Author: Mahault F.
During the 15 hours sailing in the night, there was a good wind. But we put only the main sail up because we had the wind almost in our face so it was easier and faster to use the engine. We divided the crew in two teams. One was on the deck from 8pm to midnight and 4am to 8am and the other from midnight to 4am and 8am to the arrival. The first group saw some dolphins!! It was so AMAZING! They stayed near the boat about maybe three minutes. The crossing was too long for us because many of us were seasick. But we had fun at the beginning in this splendid night with a big moon. At 11am we arrived in Oranje Baai in Statia and went to visit Statia and walk around. We saw a donkey and a strange road sign. Then we had dinner in Statia with delicious burgers, before we all went quickly to sleep to wake up the next morning at 5 o’clock.

Overnight Sail

Location: Savannah Bay, Middle of the Ocean
Author: Rafael O.
Today we woke up with a cool breeze coming from the east in Savannah Bay. We had cereal and fruit for breakfast. Later we all attempted too wakeboard, some were successful and some were not, like meAfter that we motored our way to Spanish Town to have lunch and clear customs where we had some troubles, but we were able to get it sorted out. We spent time ashore, then got back on the boat to go to the bay just outside of Spanish Town to have an early dinner and take showers in the warm waters of the Caribbean. Now we are all getting ready for our night sail from Virgin Gorda to Statia. I am really excited about this night sail because I have never done one, but also a bit nervous. Next entry will be from Statia where we are all hoping to go diving.
