Day 11- Sailing

Location: Marina Cay
Author: Brendon A.
Today was definitely a good day! We started off the day eating delicious cereal. We had my favorite – Mini Wheats and iced tea. Then we went straight into sailing and doing the man overboard drills. I started off being in the watcher, hooker and lastly the helm. The funny part was the fender actually fell off so that we actually had to do a man overboard! After that, we went into town and ate an amazing cold coke. We then headed back to the boat to shower with Hibiclens. Then we finally started to make dinner. As soon as the last dish was eaten, everyone started to clean and get ready for Lifeworks!

Day 10- Pico Madness

Location: Mountain Point, Virgin Gorda
Author: Amalia C.
Today was a day full of fun! We had another rotation day! My favorite rotation was waterskiing! I got up for my first time. In the morning, we all had to take a scuba diving test. Most of us passed, the rest of us will study harder and try again! We hung out with Calypso and went out in the Picos! Clark, Gabe and Fritz capsized the pico! Caroline and I had a few challenges, but it was so much fun. We had grilled cheese for lunch and spent the afternoon scuba diving. We had Thanksgiving on the boat tonight! Wondy made the feast and it was great. We all went around and said what we were thankful for. I am thankful for all the friends I have made on this trip. Cant wait to go to Trellis tomorrow!

Day 9- Learning To Tack And Jibe

Location: Mountain Point, Virgin Gorda
Author: Rayden
At 8:00 am, Jess and Fritz guided us on how to tack and jibe with the jib all by ourselves! Although we were an hour late for practicing this because of breakfast, we still had a lot of fun. After that, Jess taught us types if ships, formations of lights and what different types of buoys mean. Once we were done with that, we had Tuscan White bean soup for lunch. After lunch we went to go practice scuba diving, it was very fun. We learned many ways to assist divers when theyre distressed, how to help yourself when youre in distress and how to put back on your gear if it falls off underwater. Once we were done with diving we came back to the boat to find out that we didnt have to do any more sail chat! Instead of class we all got to sit out and go swimming and review knots that we have been learning for the past couple of days. After hanging out for two hours, we had chicken Caesar salad and rice for dinner. Wondy and Fritz made most of the dinner and it was delicious! After dinner we had the squeeze, which is an activity we do after dinner. The question I asked was ‘If you only had day to live, what would you do?’ In the squeeze, everyone holds hands and answers the questions. Overall was an extremely fun day, scuba diving was my favorite!

Day 8 – Pico Fun!

Location: Vixen Point, Gorda Sound
Author: Rocco C.
Today was great! The end! Just kidding! We woke up at 6:45 am and had oatmeal for breakfast. Today was a rotation day. We learned knots, had fun flipping Picos in the North Sound, dug holes and built sandcastles. We also made lunch, learned dive tables and sailed Rhodes. Cribs mobile went away to fill up with water so we could have nice fresh water showers. Mexican night was tonight and we needed to do a serious boat appreciation. We bleached everything and cleaned our bunks. Cat was found hiding on the fire extinguisher. Mike came up for dinner and we got to do cards. They were fun! I picked a cat card. During cards we got to share with each other a trait that we liked about each other and something we didnt. I liked getting to know everyone. It feels like were finally becoming a family. Cat is snuggling while we write the blog. We are so excited for tomorrow!!!
