Staff Update Day 21
Location: West End, Tortola
We’re here in West End about to wrap up another session of AQ. This morning we raced up around the green channel marker of Road Town Harbor and across to the finish at Peter Island, the whole crew working together to put in a good showing. Last night was card’s night where the crew wrote positive compliments and notes to their fellow crew members. I was excited to see the students so enthusiastically writing to one another. It has been a joy to see them grow over the session. Francesca and Annabel have stepped up to lead the crew in these past few days and it has been a great help. Arie is a great helmsman and did a great job while racing today. Sofia, Ariella and Katie are excited to have a squeaky clean cabin following the big boat appreciation we did following the race. Ethan, James and Sam are the first ones to jump in the water, whether for a swim or to chase a dish that has gone overboard. Jackson was our skipper of the day, and stepped up to act as our boat’s representative during the skipper’s meeting on Charming Elise before today’s race. Elias and AJ did a great job cleaning today, putting their heads down and scrubbing the deck in order to give themselves the most time possible ashore in West End. None of us were allowed on shore until a staff member from another boat came by to inspect the cleanliness of our boat, and we put in a lot of hard work to ensure that we were done before we got to the dock. All in all this session has been a great one, filled with exciting adventures and stories to share back home!
Final Video Update for Session 2 BVI
Location: British Virgin Islands
We wrap up our final week with our students putting their newly earned sailing certifications to the test in 3 races while still making time for some amazing diving on the famous wreck of the RMS rhone and a trek to the top of Mt. Sage, the highest point in the BVI. Our students reflect on their experience and the amazing relationships they developed over the past 3 weeks.

Day 20- The Race
Location: West End, Tortola
So today we woke up at six again. We then ate breakfast. After that the rest of the boat cleaned while I went to the skipper’s meeting about the race. Then about twenty minutes later we raced. After awhile we made it to a green buoy where we turned around and headed towards the finish. A little while later I gave Arie the helm. Then we made it to the finish in third. Zourite was in 2nd and Sambamba was in 1st. Then we sailed over to West End to clean for the next session and get lunch ashore. Tonight we have a BBQ on shore and tomorrow is fly day!

Day 19- Rhone Diving
Location: The Bight, Norman Island
Today we woke up after a little bit of a sleep in! We threw our PFDs on and left Peter Island for a breakfast underway to Salt Island. For breakfast we had cereal. When we arrived we went ashore to go for a short but fun hike on Salt Island! We were literally walking on the same salt that the Queen eats and the views were great. On the hike we got a great sight of the dive site we dove afterwards, the RMS Rhone. This was the final and best dive of the entire trip. We swam through the propeller at the stern of the wreck and some of us also got to see the bow. It was really rocky but it was amazing! For lunch we had some delicious Ramen noodles. Everyone wanted seconds. After lunch we all took our final sailing exams! We were all nervous, but we did well. After we left Salt Island and came here, to Norman Island. We anchored and our chef team, Arie and Sam, made dinner. We had cheddar broccoli pasta with a great salad. Our staff had a meeting while we ate, bonded and started clean up. Right now we just finished our squeeze and are about to have our closing boat meeting. It was a great day and I had a great time diving and being skipper!

Day 18- Breakfast? “Oui, oui!”
Location: Great Harbor, Peter Island
We started the day waking up to the morning CD. Then we decided to prepare some pancakes. The Barracudas went for an early dive while the Vegas and Carinas stayed and cooked some more pancakes, which were cooked by Annabel and Franny. We then went to Road Town to eat some lunch. After finishing lunch we went back to Peter Island to anchor. We took showers and played cards. Then Kelly and Arie cooked brinner (breakfast-for-dinner), which was really delicious (thanks). Then we squeezed with our guest, Will, one of the videographers.
