Day 20- Last Day
Location: West End, Tortola
Today was one of the saddest days. ActionQuest is coming to an end. This was the last day on the water. We had a final race, starting at The Bight and ending to make our way back to Tortola. We woke up, ate breakfast and cleaned dishes. The skipper and myself had a meeting about the race. I chose 8th place for the starting position of the race. I drove the whole race, making our way up to second place. Without everyone, there wasn’t a chance to get such a great leap. We were behind Midnatt for a while, almost passing them every couple of minutes. After passing the channel marker and heading to the yellow buoy, the race was almost over. We kept trying to push ourselves to be in first. We really wanted to win the race and get the medals. After seeing Midnatt passing the buoy we were a bit sad, but still happy about coming in second. We started to clean every nook and corner of the boat to get inspected. We got approved and made our way for shore time. Today was going to be a hard day of saying goodbyes and having one more night left with ActionQuest. I hope I will come back next year and have an even better time. Thank you Gwen, Kelly, and Alex and all of ActionQuest.

Day 19- Diving The Rhone
Location: The Bight, Norman Island
Today we started off the day by motoring to the Rhone wreck. Then we set up our dive gear and ate breakfast. When we started the dive, the visibility was amazing and we went to a depth of 68 feet. The Rhone was split into two parts. The first swim was through the bow of the boat and we saw a ton of fish. The second swim through was the stern of the boat and you had to have good buoyancy because it was very narrow. During the swim through, if you looked to the right, there was a bunch of different fish huddled together in a tiny area. The current was really strong so you always had to know where you were. After the dive, most of the shipmates took their IYT cert test. After that, we hiked to Salt Island. We saw the salt ponds, and when we got to the top the view was so pretty. After the hike, we hung out on Caribbean Soul for a long time and by the end, we were all so hungry. As soon as we got back to Curls, we motored to the Bight. Then the staff went to a meeting and we took fresh water showers and made dinner. We ate dinner when they got back and now we are starting to clean the boat so that we will have less to do tomorrow. Later we are doing a project, but they wont tell us what it is yet. All in all, today was a great day with the dive, the hike and the amazing view.

Day 18- Relaxing Day
Location: Great Harbor, Peter Island
Today was a nice day and relaxing day! We got to sleep in, which is really nice because we wake up nice and early usually. After we all slowly woke up and got the energy to get up, we got our bathing suits on and Jake (a skipper from Midnatt Solen III) took us water skiing. After that Gwen, our skipper took Ashley, Daniel, Darius and I out on the sunny and small white dinghy. We all took turns driving and it was really fun! We all headed out towards Road Town with the jib out. Then we all got to go to shore for two ours, in which we ate lunch and went to the grocery store. Now we are back where we were anchored this morning. My shipmates are currently eating dinner and some of them are setting up for the fun night dive. I cant wait, I really want to see a shark!

Day 17- Race Day!
Location: Great Harbor, Peter Island
Everyone woke up pretty early so we could have our first sailing race! After we finished our breakfast Gwen and I went to a skippers meeting so we could be briefed for the race. Even though we started in 6th position, we managed to get second place! We are just that awesome! After, we went to West End to have some shore time and are lunch and bought some ice cream! When we got back to the boat, we had another race! A person from dive side came to join us for the race, which was really fun. We finished the race in 3rd! When we anchored, we took some showers and got ready for dinner. We had taco night and devoured everything! Right now, we are having sail chat, which is very interesting! I am ready to go to bed and excited for tomorrow! Our last night dive is tomorrow and after that, we will be advanced divers!

Video Update From Week 2
Location: British Virgin Islands
It’s been another busy week in the BVI. Marine Bio research is in full force, most students are now certified scuba divers and many are working hard towards their IYT sailing certifications! We’re now over half way through the trip and some of our students share their experiences so far. #LifeActivated
