BVI: Session 2 - La Bella Vita

Location: Sommer’s Beach, Tortola
Today was a rotation day, which means we get to do a lot of fun things. After breakfast, we started off the morning by going wakeboarding and kneeboarding. It was really bumpy so it was hard to stay up but I had a lot of fun. After wakeboarding and kneeboarding we learned how to tie Turk’s Head bracelets. After we made the bracelets we made some lunch and started to sail. We started by doing sailing circles, which were hard because it was really windy today. After sailing circles, we did man overboard drills. We threw a buoy overboard and had to sail back to get it. After man overboard drills we sailed to Sommer’s Beach. Tonight we have a beach BBQ so it will be nice to be back on land for a little bit. Today was a great day and I had a lot of fun.

Seeing and Learning About Marine Animals
Location: Muskmelon Bay, Guana Island
Today began with diving at Monkey Point. We traded with Erocibar for the morning dives. The first dive was a fish ID dive. After the first dive, we then moved mooring balls and dove again. Everyone enjoyed fooling around and taking pictures on the fun dive. Simon then took the Bella Vitans to Muskmelon Bay, where we set up for a night dive. We then took a dinghy over to Bella Vita for a boom swing and dinner. We explained our hobbies during the squeeze and almost immediately left for the night dive. On the dive, we saw many interesting sea creatures. I hope the rest of the trip will be just as enjoyable!

Another Great Day of AQ
Location: Marina Cay
Today started slow until we went sailing. I was the skipper so I had to take the helm first, when I started I knew very little about sailing but as the day progressed I learned so much. After we finished sailing we went to this cool little island and we ate burgers. We also went to the store and bought so much food. When we got back to the boat I took a nap. When I got up Phoebe and Quincey had drunk 3 Red Bulls. I have never been around more energy than that. Later tonight we have a Lifeworks Forum. The last one we had I really enjoyed. Overall it is just another great day of ActionQuest!

Today was a good day, just like every other amazing day at ActionQuest! We had some bagels and fruit for breakfast, that was pretty easy to clean up. The first thing we did was go for some sailing practice and I was the skipper and I got to manage the boat and I got the helm and even though I started a little bit confused because I didn’t know some words (in Spanish some things are different, although I probably don’t know those things in Spanish) but anyways we got to go really fast for the first time and it was so much fun. I never thought that I’d, like sailing but holding the helm and going fast just pushed by the wind, made me feel happy that is soooooo cool. Later I handed the helm to my friends and eventually we stopped in Marina Cay where we anchored and had some awesome grilled cheese, we saw a Remora. That’s the fish that sticks to the shark, so we supposed that there was a shark nearby but we didn’t see it. After lunch, we went to a store called Pusser’s where we bought some snacks. I love water. After that and clean up we went for some sail circles and there was a big storm and it was raining, some of us stayed inside. We are all tired at ActionQuest because it’s so much fun all the time! Finally, we got back to Mountain Point and we had kind of a Thanksgiving dinner! After that we showered and to end the day, we are having some awesome sail chat. Basically, it was a sail day. Yayy!!!!!!!!

Waking up today on the 98-degree boat was ravishing. Wouldnt have wanted to start my day any other way. For breakfast, we ate some quite delicious breakfast burritos. After breakfast, it took us two hours to clean up, as usual. We then accompanied Shona with a wonderful chat about the engine. We had a guest today, his name is Ethan and he lives on Erocibar. Cool guy, I must say. We got the opportunity to do a navigational chat. It was so eventful! We love compasses. Lunch today was a white bean soup, I can definitely say stunk up the boat a bit, but it was actually tasty. After lunch, we went to Bella. Quincy and I wakeboarded and I face planted 4 times. It was amazeballs! When I went back to the boat, I went free-diving off the side of the boat. Then we drove Toothless, the dinghy to Erocibar and then from there we went to a wreck dive. It was awesome! Today was a pretty good day.
