Day 7- Fun At Vixen Point

Location: Vixen Point, Gorda Sound
Author: Natalie
Today we started off with a delicious french toast breakfast with pineapple. Today was another rotation day and we began with sailing Pico boats which was very fun! We then learned about RDPs and understanding how the chart works. After that we ate chicken salad sandwiches for lunch. Right after lunch we took a quiz over the information we learned about the RDPs. After our lunch break we then went sailing on boat a little larger than Picos and learned how to save a man overboard. We had a ton of fun! Soon after, we were off to go snorkeling and saw a bunch or really cool fish, including a baby barracuda. We then came back to the boat and started getting ready for the barbecue! Today was an awesome day and I cant wait for tomorrow!

Day 6- Day 6 At AQ

Location: Vixen Point, Gorda Sound

Today we started off by eating cereal after a squall last night. We were very tired but still very enthusiastic about scuba diving. We dove off the big dive boat Surprise. Andy, our instructor, helped us through confined water 3 and we saw a lot of starfish. After that we went windsurfing. Some of us had to be towed back in a dinghy. While we waited for our turn Alex and Andrew decided to bury themselves in the sand. Before that we had a chat about coral reefs and then we ate mac n cheese. Then we waterskiied and Chase did a 360 on the kneeboard while other people of the group were wakeboarding and other were waterskiing. After a very good shower Uncle Mo cooked some veggie burgers with baked beans. Followed by that we did what we call the squeeze. After that we had a very interesting dive chat and finally we called it a day. Cant wait for tomorrow!

Day 5- A Great Day Ending With A Bang!

Location: Vixen Point, Gorda Sound

Today we had an especially early morning because the day was so packed with so many fun activities. We had breakfast while moving of bagels and cream cheese. We were on our way to the world famous Baths. For those who don’t know, the Baths are a formation of rocks with many caves and passages in it, and sprawling beaches. In the Baths we found rocks to jump in the water from, caverns to crawl through, and also some delicious mangoes to taste and eat. After exploring the caves for a couple of hours we headed back to our boat to head off again sailing to Spanishtown. In Spanishtown we ordered a delicious lunch then went to the grocery store to stock up on supplies for the journey ahead. After piling on the boat once again to sail, we arrived in Vixen Point where we tied all of the boats together by the shore to form a large raft. As we were getting ready for bed a giant storm broke out. In the strong winds we had to separate all of our boats and pick up mooring balls. Luckily the storm passed quickly, so we were able to all have good sleep That day ended with a bang!

We started the day with oatmeal, then went to our first rotation, which was scuba diving. The Vegas did dive practice while the advanced divers went out and went scuba diving with a little review mixed in. The second rotation we had was a lesson on how to dock the boat and drive the dinghy We then went back to our boat to have lunch. Lunch was very good, we had tuna salad and if you did not want tuna salad, you could have PB+J. After lunch, we went waterskiing. The last rotation we did was windsurfing. We then had dinner , which was chili and rice, then we went to our first Lifeworks. Overall, today was a very fun day.

Day 3- Magic School Boat

Location: Savanna Bay, Virgin Gorda

Today we woke up in our hammocks right before sunrise to see the beautiful Norman Island and we got ready because we all had the big sailing day ahead of us. So, we started off with some really good eggs!! They were the best I have ever had. Once we were all full we were told by our instructors that it would be a challenge to put up our mainsail while still on the mooring ball and it worked great, and it was a really fun learning experience. As we got underway, we tried a lot of new things like rolling out our jib sail, which made us go so much faster!! After our six-hour sail on the Drake Channel, which felt like way less, we were having so much fun. Additionally, we had a short dance off with another boat, which was awesome!! We arrived at Virgin Gorda with beautiful clear waters we jumped in the water and took our showers then ate dinner yum. We finally got ready for bed and went to bed screaming about what fun we’re gonna have the next day. Well that’s my experience on day 3.
