Day 7

Location: Mountain Point, Virgin Gorda
Author: Hannah D.
Today we had a later start before some oatmeal for breakfast. The open water students finished their final pieces of theory whilst the divemasters completed their final chapter and the rest of the boat had some downtime. For lunch, we motored over to Leverick Bay for some shore time. After picking up a few snacks we sailed back to Mountain Point. The boat got together to snorkel the dive site for the advanced students night dive, later on, tonight and the sights spotted ranged from a pair of squid and a pufferfish to some lobsters. When we got back on the boat we had an AQ favorite, Mexican night, for dinner. The advanced students are looking forward to their night dive and the rest of the boat plans to watch a movie together. date: Aug 5, 2017

Dance Day

Location: Vixen Point, Gorda Sound
Author: Parker L.
Last night’s Lifeworks Forum was a game-changer. I think this morning we all woke up feeling less like strangers and more connected than ever. We began the day with an awesome snorkel around the mangroves, there were tons of juvenile fish and even a baby barracuda. We followed this with a nice lunch and then windsurfing and sailing. It was so much fun. After chilling on the beach for a while we proceeded onto the dinghy to go waterskiing. After that, we began to prepare for the BBQ/dance. I think I speak for everyone when I say that tonight will be a blast. date: Aug 4, 2017

Toast, Waves, and Scuba Fun

Location: Vixen Point, Gorda Sound
Author: Mateo L.
We started the day rather deliciously with some warm French toast. After that, we went to have fun in the sea. We enjoyed several watersports- wakeboarding and waterskiing, we learned about the theory of sailing, and how to tie knots. After lunch, it was my group’s turn for our second scuba diving session. Learning new, strange skills and experiencing the world underwater was very memorable and exciting. Everybody helped and encouraged each other. After that came a quick shower and the journey to the next place, followed by dinner and an intense evening Lifeworks Forum session with Mike. It’s strange how many things can be done in one day! date: Aug 3, 2017

Splish, Splash, We Went to the Baths

Location: Mountain Point, Virgin Gorda
Author: Jessica M.
Today started off early with a great breakfast of blueberry muffins and eggs! Right after we went to the Baths. We were some of the first people there and we started to explore together. We went through many caves and came across a giant rock, we all jumped off the rock into the water! After about an hour and a half, we headed towards Spanishtown. In Spanishtown we had a wonderful lunch and an opportunity to call home! Then it was sailing time! We learned about the different points of sail as well as tacking and jibing. We sailed all the way to Mountain Point. Here we ate dinner and spent the night. date:Aug 2, 2017

Non-Stop Action

Location: Savanna Bay, Virgin Gorda
Author: Soleil M.
After staying up late last night bonding, waking up at 6:30 this morning was quite difficult, but the warm oatmeal breakfast woke us up. The divers were then carted off to the beach where the beginners were taught basic skills and the advanced divers went off to dive. Our one Quest member went and cleaned up a school on a nearby island for a community service project, and our divemasters were helping divers all day. We then went waterskiing and did some dinghy training. After lunch, we went to the beach and sailed Picos and windsurfed. Today was very fun. We can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings. date: Aug 1, 2017
