BVI: Session 2 - Grand Cru

Today everybody woke up at 7:00 and huddled in the blue lagoon. It was chilly from the rain that happened late in the night. I woke up the chefs then the day started. Very perfect weather when we went to Spanish Town. The wind picked up greatly when I started driving the boat. I had never sailed before but I broke the record at 9.2 knots! Apparently that’s kinda fast. Over all driving the boat was real fun. The more time I spend here the more boat-like I feel. Skipper is a cool job because I like being busy.

A Dive, A Beach Day, and a Hike Oh My!
Today the Neptunes and Dolphins were separated to learn about navigation and to play on the beach. After a quick dive to test their new found skills the Dolphins met up with all the Dolphins from other boats and played on the beach and took a hike while the Neptunes went diving. With the day coming to a close everyone was anticipating the upcoming visit to port tomorrow and the night dive chat to occur later on this evening after a delicious meal of chili made by Adrienne and Katie. Today we sailed around a dangerous reef without any problems and bonded with our fellow Dolphins, making new friends in the process.

Amazing People and an Amazing Day
Today I finally got my certification for scuba! We went diving at Cooper Island for both the Dolphins and Neptunes programs and it was a great dive for a first time with a certification. There were a ton of fish and as part of the Dolphin program we had to identify 10 fish and describe them in our journals. Haley and Greg switched with Marina from Odyssea which was fun and we got to spend time with different people. It seems like everyone is getting along well and we’re growing closer as we get to know each other better. Diving tomorrow should be great. We saw a shark today and hope to see one tomorrow.

Heading: 115 Degrees.
Today we woke up to lots of rain. We stayed in the harbor for a while and the storm finally stopped. We got a new crew member today named Lindsay. After she came onboard we left the harbor and set sail for White Bay. We motored for a while and then unfurled the jib and sailed. We had a fun time on the front of the boat getting splashed by the waves. Now we are anchored.

Location: West End, Tortola
Today we are glad to be disconnected from all electronic devices. It is necessary sometimes just to be in touch with nature more since we barely do. This is the first step to a long journey full of laughter, hard work, and lost of fun. We don’t know each other that well for now but I have no doubt that by the 27th of July we will turn out to be like family. Today me and Marissa were in charge of dinner which turned out well in my opinion. After the squeeze question I think everyone knew each other a little better. Now its time to rest and be fresh for tomorrow morning.
