Day 16 – Back Home

Location: West End, Tortola
Author: Jake K.
Today’s the last day we get to live in the Caribbean for a while. The two things I’ll miss the most are the diving and the nature. Today we had our last dive in the Indians. We saw more yellowtail snapper than I have ever seen in my life. Along with the snappers, we saw massive parrotfish and a 2ft long trumpet fish. Tonight will also be the last Caribbean sunset we’ll see. Every morning and night, we get to wake up and fall asleep to the most beautiful sunset and sunrise ever. Later tonight, we will end with a beach BBQ. Finally, we will fall asleep under a blanket of stars. Goodbye AQ.

Day 15 – Land And Sea

Location: The Bight, Norman Island
Author: Ava L.
We woke up this morning to the fresh smell of pancakes and cantaloupe. Then, the dolphins went turtle tagging while the Neptunes and barracudas went diving. Unfortunately, us dolphins didn’t see or catch a turtle. After our ocean showers, we sailed to Road Town for a brief and fun land visit. When everyone was back on board, dive side and lifeworks had a sailing competition to Norman Island. Our boat won!!! It was a proud moment as we happily jumped up and down on the trampoline. While the staff went to a meeting, a delicious dinner of franks and beans was being prepared. I can’t believe this trip is coming to a close. It’s been so fabulous and I’m going to miss everything about it. It’s been too much fun!

Day 14 – It’s Not Just A Camp

Location: Great Harbor, Peter Island
Author: Chase M.
This has been one of the best experiences of my life. It’s not even camp anymore, it’s just a bunch of friends on a vacation diving in the BVI. We had the best dives today. The first one Maddy led, Taylor led the second one, they were awesome! Then we went snorkeling. It’s awesome! Luka and I were doing the Matrix underwater. Then we had a dance party with my playlist because it’s the best of course! It’s been a great day we are about to take our test for open water. And now as I write this, they just dropped a cup and it sunk. 3 more days until we’re home, for the time we have remaining we’re going water skiing tomorrow, we’re going to town. I’ve personally made amazing friends and some I can even see that they only live 53 minutes from me. It’s been awesome so far, hopefully we don’t laugh as much in our squeeze as we normally do! See everybody soon!

Day 13 – Restarting Our Trip

Location: Great Harbor, Peter Island
Author: Ethan R.
Today we woke up and put on our PFD’s to start the sail back to West End, the town were we started our trip. On the way, there we had some cereal. We got there just in time because we ran out of water just as we finished clean up. After two hours on land, we went back to the boat and set off to Great Harbor Peter. It was a long sail but Jake and Collin helped me with steering the boat and doing several tacks. On the way there we made a stop to a previous dive location which is a sunken ship called the RMS Rhone. Instead of diving at the boat, this time we dove at the anchor. The dive was packed with all different types of fish and coral. After our gear was put away, we took a shower in the ocean and Collin learned the hard way what happens if you’re swimming in the ocean and someone flushes the toilet. After he took three more showers, we finished our sail to the island. For dinner, Lucy and Luka made us burritos and we got a special visit from Mike, the director of ActionQuest. After he left, we got to finish off our great day by “duct taping” our mouths shut and giving the staff their first few minutes of silence of the entire trip.
