Day 15

Location: The Bight, Norman Island
Author: Alexandra D.
Another fabulous day in paradise! We woke up and immediately began flipping chocolate chip pancakes for breakfast. Using up the last of our Nutella stash, we enjoyed breakfast leisurely. Upon starting clean up, a rescue scenario began and several students jumped in the water to (fake) save Cat, an unresponsive diver. After a rescue well done, we embarked on a “moon-walking” dive under the boat. We added extra weight and hopped into the water fin-less. At the bottom we were able to jump around in the sand as if we were walking on the moon! Many laughs and GoPro videos later, we again boarded the boat for a lunch in Road Town, our last port stop before returning to our arrival port. Soon enough, we were back onboard participating in a dive side sailing race! We took the lead for most of the race, but were just slightly surpassed by Second Wind by the end. Now, we’re preparing a dinner of franks and beans which looks delicious! Although we’re reluctant to acknowledge that the trip is coming to a close, Spindrift is happy to have made so many great friends and memories already!

Day 13 Study Day

Location: Great Harbor, Peter Island
Author: Max A.
We got an early start today. We left Sandy Spit at about 7 and motored over to West End. Where the ship refueled and re-fooded and we got some town time. We ended up staying in town for several hours and got to do some eating and shopping. Then the fleet took a long sail to Great Harbour Peter where we dove the Fearless, A ship that was sunk as an artificial reef. It was a fun dive for everyone, except for Rachel who had to make up a deep dive with Cat. Following the dive, Adam took a group waterskiing and kneeboarding while a bunch of Rescues studied for our EFR tests that we are taking after dinner. Hopefully Mexican night will give all of us enough energy to pass our tests.
