Day 8 – (Insert Catchy Title Here)
Location: Great Harbor, Peter Island
Every morning waking up at ActionQuest is like waking up in a second home with a second family. We’ve grown pretty close with meals, activities, diving, and what not; hard to believe it’s been a whole week! But I feel that when you and shipmates are close enough to be dancing to Pittbul on the deck that it’s been first week of ActionQuest well spent. Doesn’t stop me from missing the people and bathrooms back home though, but the daily dives takes my mind off of the quickly. My book nerds will probably get this, but you know when you’re reading an action packed book that you’re falling in love with? Now instead of reading it, I’m living and writing it out to remember and to smile back at years from now.

Day 7 – Today Was Just Beachin’
Location: Vixen Point, Gorda Sound
Starting with a gentle wake up with our morning CD, we sat down to a breakfast of eggs and french toast. Soon after, the neptune students did their first solo dive, searching for different types of fish. The dolphins looked for various types of symbiosis, for example: mutualism, commensalism, and parasitism. After everyone successfully completed their dives, we motored over to Leverick Bay for some time ashore where we all ate lunch together (by choice). Following our time ashore, neptunes had a boat diving lecture and the dolphins snorkled the mangrove trees along the coastline. After reconvening, diveside all met up on the beach to play games and swim. After our first salt water showers in days, we all got dressed and ready for our first beach party and barbecue.

Day 6 – Another Day In Paradise
Location: Mountain Point, Virgin Gorda
Man, today was crazy. We started with an early 7:00 wake up by Marina, one of our three amazing staff aboard our boat. After this morning’s breakfast of cereal, we geared up and started our earliest dive of the trip so far at 8:30am! We were at 40 feet for about 30 minutes, it was awesome! Then we proceed to sail to Great Dog island and chilled for an hour or two then geared up once again for our second dive at the Chimney’s reef for 45 minutes at 45 feet. There we swam through two sick trenches. Honestly, I forgot how much I missed my family until now… Good thing I have my second family on Adonis!

Day 5 – Nothin’ Better Than A Warm Bath
Location: Mountain Point, Virgin Gorda
This morning we all woke up a little bit more tired than usual, due to our late night hanging our and doing gymnastics on the trampoline. However, we soon forgot how tired we were when we remembered that today we got to go to the Baths! Climbing around and jumping off rock with all of the other boats was a real treat! There were plenty of front flips, backflips, high-shcool musical jumps, and barely any sea urchin injuries! When it was time for us to say goodbye to our other friends, we all piled back into our dinghy “Sumo.” The next stop was Spanish Town, which was the first civilization we have seen in five days! It was nice to be back on land, have lunch out, and go shopping (where we replaced all of the snacks that we have devoured over the past five days). The last stop of the day was Mountain Point. After putting our anchor down, we snorkeled around the site, the same site we will soon be diving tonight. It’s been a long day, I just hope we make it to our first night dive tonight!

Day 4 – Dolphinately The Best Day
Location: Savanna Bay, Virgin Gorda
Today was really awesome! We woke up really early and had a delicious breakfast. After that, a group of divers from other boats came in and we had a navigation dive. We saw cool stuff like stingrays and some nurse sharks. After the dive, we were on the boat and had a really good time with the other divers. After that, we had delicious sandwiches for lunch. Then we did a hike, it was really hot, and afterwards we had a great time at the beach. After we had a shower in the sea, we had fresh water showers for the first time (which was really nice). Our fellow shipmates came back from other boats, and we were all really happy to see them all back. We had a great dinner with Mike and had a really nice “squeeze,” which is a great boat meeting after every dinner.
