Sunken Ships and Cotton Balls

Location: Great Harbor, Peter Island
Author: Emma C.
Today began with waking up at 6:30 am to our rockin’ morning tunes. After that, I helped Cat and Justin sail to Salt Island where we dove the Rhone wreck. During the ride, Cat showed off her gnarly bubble blower. We descended right above the old mail ship and then ventured through a swim through guarded by a barracuda. Luckily, he let us pass without any trouble. The rest of the dive went as swiftly as the beginning. We saw trumpetfish, parrotfish, four-eye butterflyfish and many more. It was so cool seeing how all the animals and plants adapted to their new sanctuary. At the end, we completed a safety stop and then cruised on over to Salt Island for a hike with a million dollar view. While on Salt Island, we saw the cemetery where the deceased passengers of the RMS Rhone now lie. At the end of the hike, Cat hosted a quick dance party to the song “Tropics” (it is kind of our theme song). To top off the best day ever, we had a night dive. There were a ton of stingrays and tiny fish. We turned our lights off for 3 minutes and were consumed in the darkness. We then ended the dive with a feisty game of ninja and are now awaiting Cat’s famous brownies… the perfect way to end the best day ever.

Just Another Day in Paradise

Location: Great Harbor, Peter Island
Author: Leah A.
We began our day at 6:30 this morning accompanied by the never disappointing tune of the morning CD. Luckily for us, we spent our morning sailing to Great Harbor, Peter Island where we were able to relax and soak in the constant beauty of the BVIs. The weather was beautiful, redeeming itself from last nights rain shower. Upon arrival to our home this evening, we all sat together, shared a meal of deli sandwiches and proceeded to complete our diving specialties. The Neptunes did their deep dive at a stellar 90 feet and the Dolphins completed their underwater digital photography specialty dive. We reconvened for some saltwater showers and we are gearing up for an incredible Mexican dinner this evening. ActionQuest never disappoints. Heres to two more great weeks on Happy Our!

A Day to Remember

Location: Vixen Point, Gorda Sound
Author: Greta W.
We started off the morning with French toast as we headed around the corner of Mountain Point for our fish ID dive. To spot and name five different fish, Maggie and I explored the coral reef and observed the many different types of fish. Some of us saw tarpon chasing a barracuda and a huge school of fish surrounding all of us. After the dive, we headed to Levericks Bay to eat lunch and shop around. Many of us got stickers from port to add to our collection from the trip. After a great afternoon, we headed to Vixon Point for the Neptunes to do their boat diver lecture and the Dolphins to do their mangrove snorkel. While everyone was heating up in the sun, we had a relay race on the beach that ended in the water to cool off. Then we all got ready for the beach barbecue. It started with burgers and a delicious, fresh fruit salad, followed by singing and crazy dancing. This was topped off with relaxing and talking in lawn chairs by the water with the cool breeze. To end the day, we thought the power went off in the boat but then Cat came to the rescue with a flick of a button.

Saaaaa Dude

Location: Mountain Point, Virgin Gorda
Author: Jake V.
This morning I woke up to a rain shower at the crisp hour of 5 am. I heard goats last night when I was sleeping (they live on the island). We went off to the Chimneys to go scuba diving through swim-throughs. After that, we had some five star mac n’ cheese made by Scarlett, topped off with some Pringles. Then we went to the Coral Gardens to do our first wreck dive on a sunken airplane. That was super duper cool!! We also went about 50 feet deep to see a lot of really cool aquatic life, like a school of barracuda, horse eye jacks, and garden eels. The dive was so much fun! To end the day we did a bunch of fun fish identification studying. For dinner, we are having some veggie burgers!

Dooooopest Day Yet!

Location: Mountain Point, Virgin Gorda
Author: Natalie S.
This morning we all got to sleep in as we made our way to the Baths. We all ate oatmeal and prepped for our exciting morning exploring this cool place. There were tons of different paths and rock formations. It was also a lot of fun jumping off Jumping Rock into the beautiful water. After a few hours at the Baths, we went to Spanish Town to grab some lunch and enjoy some shore time. We all sat together and enjoyed some coke, burgers and fries. After that, we hung out at a few stores until it was time to come back to the boat. We then sailed to Mountain Point, Virgin Gorda. Unfortunately, during the sail, Jake’s new hat blew off of his head into the ocean. RIP. Aside from this, we had a nice sail discussing our favorite movies. When we arrived at Mountain Point, we went snorkeling and saw tarpons, puffer fish and a shark! After this, we all started to set up our dive gear to get ready for our FIRST NIGHT DIVE! We are all super ready and excited for this! Overall, this has been an incredible day and we are all having the best time.
