Today we went to the Baths. We woke up really early to make this trip. After jumping from the big rock and exploring the rocks of the Baths, we went to Spanishtown to refill everything (food, oil, and fresh water). Spanishtown was really fun, in fact everybody ate a big tasty hamburger mmmmhhhh 🙂 After getting news from our families and buying stuff from the market, we finally left the port to Vixen Point. The trip was really fun and we almost thought that we would be caught in a big storm, but we didn’t. The sailing was pretty cool and we learned lots of things. Now we arrived at our destination a little bit tired but it’s full of good landscape. We’re going to eat and have a little scuba chat. Sure it will be a lot of fun.

Wakeboarding and Waterskiing

Location: Savanna Bay, Virgin Gorda
Author: Tiger
Today we learned more information about sailing. I specifically learned how to drive a boat and how to adjust the boat to make it go faster and more smooth. Also for the first time we waterskiied. I over and over again face planted. I also learned how to wakeboard. I had much more success at this and enjoyed it more. Overall I loved the day and I hope the days keep becoming more and more fun.

Sail Sail Sail!

Location: Savanna Bay, Virgin Gorda
Author: Bradley D.
Today Caribbean Soul sailed for six hours. Advanced sailors reviewed and beginner sailors got their first sail drills. We unfurled the jib for the first time, and practiced sail circles, tacking, jibing, and holding a steady heading. The weather was clear and sunny, causing a few minor sunburns. The wind was strong and the waves were decent. We also continued to practice tying bowlines, clove, and half hitches. We even had an early morning after a good night’s sleep (no rain interruptions), and could not have asked for a better day. Of course, there are plenty more to come.

What’s the Pulpit?

Location: The Bight, Norman Island
Author: Colin G.
Today we finally picked up the rest of our shipmates and finally started sailing. We all took turns learning to steer the ship and I got a good lesson in docking us. It was a lot of information but fun. We learned hot to tie the knots the bowline, clove hitch, and cleat knot. Everyone learned pretty quick. Then we learned some more about the ship, like what the bow, stern, starboard, and port are. Then the mainsail, jib sail, standing rigging, running rigging, and what the pulpit is. Then once the rest of the crew finally arrived and we put up the mainsail and headed to the Bight at Norman Island. We got 25 knot winds with 6 foot waves. Once we finally got to the Bight we tied up to a mooring ball and did the swim test. After that and dinner we got introduced to our scuba groups or snorkeling groups. Then we went to bed.

Today we met the majority of people on the boat and the staff Ted, Liz, and Matt. They are very humorous and interesting and they made the rainy day seem less rainy. I plan on having a lot of fun with my shipmates!
