Day 14- Salt Island
Posted: Thu, Aug 11, 2016
Location: Great Harbor, Peter Island
Today we woke up to a wonderful xylophone rendition of “Story Of My Life” by One Direction, as we have for the past two weeks We motored over to Salt Island while we ate a breakfast of oatmeal and cereal. Once we got there we promptly got on our scuba gear and dove the wreck of the RMS Rhone. It was some of the most breathtaking experiences we’ve ever had. There were hundreds of fish swimming in and out of the wrecked ship. We also saw a forest of coral, overgrown on the wooden hull, as well as some sea turtles. Afterwards we headed back to the boat for a lunch of sandwiches. In the afternoon we headed ashore to hike around Salt Island. It’s called Salt Island because, guess what, there’s salt on it. Two large salt ponds sat in the middle, with large rocky hills on the other side. We go off on the sandy beach side and hiked past the lagoons over to the rocks. The view of the rocks was amazing, as was climbing around. We also hung out on the beach. Later we motored back to Peter Island, where we started our day. We had an amazing dinner, breakfast for dinner, including pancakes, sausages, and eggs. Right now we’re getting set to go to a Lifeworks Forum. Can’t wait for tomorrow.
