Location: Muskmelon Bay, Guana Island
Today was the most fun day yet! Annie, Jake and Emma had been at a staff meeting during breakfast, so we were left to our own devices while cooking. Luckily, we succeeded in not sinking the boat, and they were welcomed back to an absolute delicious breakfast of pancakes of different varieties- banana, plain and Oreo! Random, but so delicious! After our meal, we sailed from Marina Cay, where we had spent the last night, to Trellis Bay. In Trellis Bay, we went on shore for a couple hours and shopped, ate lunch, and called our parents. After purchasing several million packages of Oreos and Chips Ahoy and Nutella, we returned to the boat. As soon as we began sailing away, we were exposed to the beauty of our surroundings. The water was so clear, and the sky was so blue, and there were cliffs on our sides. It was impossible not to be amazed! We sailed around for a few hours just taking our time and practicing tacking, jibing, and adjusting our jib and mainsail for different points of sail. Eventually we reached Muskmelon Bay, where we’ll be anchoring tonight and tomorrow night. We showered and began a dinner of chili, rice and salad. Partway through our meal, things took a turn for the weird. Spencer had begun talking about what kind of food he would be. Apparently, the answer, or answers as it were, was either a pickle, a fruit cake, or a three bean salad! This struck us all as incredibly hilarious, and subsequently we all laughed for the next half hour. Just the fact that he had put so much thought into it and it was so specific was enough to send us all spiraling into never ending rounds of laughter, which honestly hasnt yet ended even as I write this! What a perfect end to a perfect day!
