Day 1 Session 3 Caribbean Soul

Posted: Fri, Jul 29, 2016

We’re on the dock, waiting on this magical day. We’ve spent the last two days reading the boat for our new shipmates. She has been cleaned and tidied and bunks have been set up. We are bursting at the seams with excitement and spent the day briefing our schedule. We can’t wait to spend the next two and a half weeks circumnavigating the BVI and all the adventures that come with it!

Here is an introduction to the crew of Caribbean Soul Too:

Jess: Skipper/Medic

Jessica brings a wealth of sailing and teaching experience to the field. A native of Pennsylvania, she has sailed and coached dinghies and keelboats around the world. Jessica discovered her passion for maintaining and restoring wooden boats while working aboard tall ships. She currently works as a 7th grade teacher at The Exploris School in Raleigh, North Carolina. She loves adventures and enjoys sailing and climbing. Jessica is really excited to work on the AQ team this summer.

Pippa: Dive Instructor/Mate

Pip also has a keen interest in marine conservation. She has been involved in Bio Rock coral reef restoration projects in the Gili Islands and the implementation of aquaculture, farming seaweed and sea cucumbers across the poverty-stricken villages in the Bay of Ranboe, Madagascar. After spending the summer at ActionQuest, she hopes to combine her love for the ocean and hobbies of photography and film by studying a Masters in Wildlife Film Production back in the UK.
