Day 12- Going North
Posted: Mon, Jul 18, 2016
Location: Muskmelon Bay, Guana Island
Today we woke up to the wonderful smell of pancakes and Nutella. Right after breakfast we did the dishes, hung out, swam and got to call our parents, which was probably one of the biggest highlights of our day. Meanwhile the chefs worked diligently on quesadillas, which were amazing. After that, we finally got to go scuba diving! We rode over to a place called the Chimneys and set up our gear. Today we dove to about 35 feet, which is the deepest we have ever dove before. We saw 2 eels and a lobster, which was extremely exiting. Although this was our second open water dive, I find it hard to believe that we will ever get over the beauty and curiosities of this new world. After the dive we got back to our boat and prepared to sail all the way north the Muskmelon Bay. The trip took about 3 hours and though it was long, I believe that we all had fun and got even closer. I had a great conversation with Spencer, Emma and Jake about The Office and Parks and Recreation trivia, which was really funny. When we finally arrived, we were amazed at the crystal clear and beautiful water and then immediately jumped in. We got all of our laundry back and winded down our day with some chili and rice. We finally ended the day with a Lifeworks Forum which sparked a stimulating a conversation between all of our shipmates bringing us even closer than we thought was possible. Overall that was a very relaxing and interesting day for all of us and we cant wait for tomorrow!
