Its hard to believe that we are already half way through this voyage. We have already done so much and we still have so much awesomeness to go! Surprise has already sailed around the south side of the BVI and all the way out to Anegada and back again. In the coming days we will be exploring the north side of the islands before heading back to West End. Gia has really become one of the leaders aboard and excelled in her diving in the Neptune Program. She also enjoys learning some of the marine biology from the other shipmates on board. Georgia, yes there are two Georgia’s aboard, is also enjoying diving very much. You wouldn’t be able to tell that she only finished her open water course the first few days of ActionQuest and now she is almost an Advanced Diver. Federico has been a huge help in the galley always helping with cooking and in general always volunteering to do anything aboard. Collin spends most of his time on deck or in the power tower. He has been bitten by the sailing bug for sure. Morgan comes up from a dive with the biggest smile every single time. She is having a wonderful time getting to know everyone on board. Noah has enjoyed learning everything it takes to live aboard a boat and how its a different lifestyle than anywhere else. He is also enjoying all the wreck dives that the Neptune’s are doing. Blaise has learned some much in this past week about marine biology and diving that I’m sure he’ll be back here again next year. Jolie has enjoyed all the lectures and dissections in the Dolphin Program. She loves asking questions that I can’t answer off the top of my head. Claudia is also a superstar in the Dolphin Program. She has also been helping me out in the galley a lot and has learned that the secret ingredient to everything is, cinnamon! Oliver is always on deck helping trim the sails or raising the anchor. Bailin made me so proud the other day when he lead the crew in raising the jib by yelling “Sailors, By Choice”, which is what the US Navy used to call out while pulling lines. He is definitely a delightful personality aboard. Catherine has been a trooper, over coming so much to still be able to do almost everything on board all with a smile on her face. She has already told me which colleges she is going to apply to for marine biology. It has been so great getting to know everyone on board. We are all looking forward to this next week of more science and diving with lots of fun and a bit of work. This is Surprise standing by on 72…
