Day 20 Staff Update

Posted: Sun, Jul 5, 2015

Location: West End, Tortola
Author: Adam, Matt and Tina
21 days ago 12 strangers walked down the dock in West End. 3 short weeks later, Second Wind is a close knit family. Tina, Matt and I could not be more proud of everyone and their accomplishment. Our 8 new rescue divers have worked hard over the past 3 weeks, learning to help and assist other divers. During the rescue scenarios, Nicolai stepped up and took charge leading the group through the exercise. Whit was always the first to enter the water and was awesome at reassuring panicked divers. G became an expert in administering oxygen. Hannah and Mads never hesitated to jump in and help with any job that needed to be done. Willie and Amelia, always with a smile on their faces, were always eager to hop in the water and explore. Giles was also quick to lend a helping hand, or crack a funny face. Our 4 Neptunes have worked hard and dove a ton in the past 3 weeks to earn their Advanced Open Water certifications along with 5 specialties. Wynne, who earned her Open Water certification at the beginning of the trip has continuously impressed us with her remarkable dive skills as well as her constant smile. Sydney took some amazing go pro footage during the trip and was always eager to go diving. Alvaro was always smiling and his laugh was infectious to all. Max as always quick to lend a hand to others and share his knowledge and passion of diving. Matt, Tina and I are sad to see everyone go, but we are so happy with what everyone has accomplished this session.
