Day 9- Muy (Pico)ante
Posted: Wed, Jun 24, 2015
Location: Mountain Point, Virgin Gorda
After being awaken by Patrick’s loud footsteps and Kelly’s top 40 pop from 2012, we started the day with delicious breakfast burritos. Then after the scuba divers left, the four girls of Quest went on a short hike with Torin, one of the coolest instructors. We hiked to a beach and cleaned up trash while learning about the importance of limiting our plastic use and recycling. After our bumpy dinghy ride back to our boat we went for a short snorkel. Even though we didn’t see anything very exciting it was nice to be in the water after being in the hot sun. Lastly and easily the most exciting part was Pico sailing. After being very apprehensive about sailing a small boat, my partner and I had a shaky sail followed by being towed in back to our boat. After everyone had gone we hopped back in and with the help of Smudge, one of the instructors, we managed to sail a long way and have a few successful tacks. With a full day behind us we had a great dinner with Mike, the director and finished of with a great personal enrichment game. All in all today has been one of the most exciting days.
