This morning I awkwardly poked everyone awake to get ready for another exciting day. We ate oatmeal and cereal for breakfast. After cleaning up we motored to our first dive of the day called the Rhone. The Rhone was a ship used for mail and cargo going from England to the BVIs that sunk in front of salt island during a hurricane in 1876. On our dive we saw the mid-ship and all the coral and sea life now living there. Once we got back home (Spindrift II) we got ready for a quick hike on Salt Island with a beautiful view off of cliffs looking over the ocean! Also, by the way, the Queen of England has salt from Salt Island on her table for Christmas dinner. After lunch the rescue squad practiced a situation regarding unresponsive divers at depth while the dolphins went for a snorkel. While the dolphins were still snorkeling the rescue divers had a surprise scenario that involved searching and recovering two missing divers (Frank the tank and Noah the weight belt). The search and recovery process only took rescue an impressive 25 minutes to find them. After the scenario, Spindrift II residents did a thorough wash from bow to stern on our boat and then cooked dinner. Tonight rescue divers have a lecture and the dolphins are going on another night dive. Also at dinner everyone shared how they found out Santa Clause wasn’t real and how sad it was for them to find out that he wasn’t real.. (thanks Moms and Dads)
