Day 6 Coral Gardens and Chimneys
Posted: Sun, Jun 21, 2015
Location: Mountain Point, Virgin Gorda
This morning we woke up bright and early and headed to the coral gardens. At the gardens there is a plane at about 50 ft underwater which was used as a prop for a movie back in the 70s. We saw loads of fish including barracuda, squirrel fish and lots more. We then surfaced and completed course work for different specialties. After that, we sailed to another dive site, the Chimenys. The Chimneys were amazing in their own way with all the wildlife and there was even a swim through! We saw all kinds of fish everywhere. Each of today’s dive sites were on the Great Dog Islands. You could say the currents were a little “ruff”. Following our second dive, we all continued our course work. While getting ready for dinner, we had a really nice dance party in the cockpit and salon featuring Avril Lavigne and N*sync. Also before dinner, we listened to hilarious sea sick stories from our staff. For dinner we had garden veggie burgers and the buns turned out to be fantastic food for the fish! A couple shipmates even stuck go pros in the water, and the fish bit right at the camera. Hopefully those videos turn out! As a boat, we are all getting closer and we are now headed into out first student led Lifeworks forum as a boat.
